Spa Layout/Design Review

  • Participate IN on-going technical design/planning sessions with the project team in order to finalise the facility mix, concept layout in conjunction with the Operator, AoR and ID;
  • Present overall design peer review report based on ID consultants concept design taking into consideration the following:
    • Spatial Planning
    • Operational Flow
    • Guests Flow
    • Specially Adjacency
    • Interior Design & Distinctive Features
    • Millwork and cabinetry recommendations
    • Locker room design recommendations
    • Reception and retail layout recommendations
    • Treatment room design recommendations
    • Spa objectives
    • Facility and services.
    • Revenue generators Vs Non-Revenue Generators
    • Spa theme and services levels,
    • Spa journey
    • Treatment theme & Menu
    • Potential Integration

Stage 2 Schematic

Review/ Comment and Workshops

Support the Interior Designer to further develop in conjunction with the other consultants, each of the aspects detailed in Stage 1 and provide the following support:

  • Participate IN on-going technical design/planning sessions with the project team in order to finalise the facility mix, in conjunction with the Operator, AoR and ID;
  • Further review the recommended acoustic / sound attenuation levels specified
  • Review the detailed equipment plan that show the locations of all proposed SPA equipment, based upon the approved layouts and the operator requirements;
  • Review Plans, Sections. 3D Sketches, Mood and Finishes Boards,
  • Draft Equipment specifications for further development
  • Data processing requirements
  • Input in all areas pertaining to design issues

Stage 3 Assisted Detailed Planning

Spa Specific Equipment Specifications

Support with the preparation of the detailed equipment plan of all SPA Equipment, loose SPA Equipment,

Detailed Spa Equipment Specifications to be produced. Data sheets will be supplied for all free-standing Spa, Fitness and Beauty Equipment detailing the following:

  • Type/Manufacturer
  • Technical Specifications
  • Quantity
  • Supplier

Assisted Detailed Planning Support

Review/ Comment and Workshops Advise on Practical Implications of Interior Design Schemes, providing constructive direction,

Support the Clients Interior Designer to further develop in conjunction with the other consultants, each of the aspects detailed and provide the following support:

  • Participate within on-going technical design/planning sessions with the project team in order to finalise the facility mix, in conjunction with the Operator, AoR and ID;
  • SpaLution shall liaise with the interior designer on all Spa finishes, reviewing and commenting on the interior design scheme for all spaces, thermal suites & hydro experiences.
  • SpaLution shall assess drawings regarding practicalities and specifics of the Spa operation, as well as the integration of specialist equipment & supplies. The issues covered will include;
    • Lighting Moods; Pre-Set Programmes; Natural/Artificial Light; Views
    • General Arrangements
    • Storage furniture
    • Retail Layouts & Displays
    • Ceiling Layouts, inc grills, smoke detectors, speakers, emergency lighting & signage, access panels etc
    • Cabinetry & Joinery detail
    • Loose Furniture appropriate to its purpose
    • Walls
    • Flooring & practical location of Drains
    • Positive/Negative Sound; All door closures; Absorption of sound

Stage 4 Construction Documents

Final Review of Drawings

Prior to the commencement of works, SpaLution must be able to review the final and appropriate sets of drawings and specifications, necessary to comply with the required standards as set out in the previous information and as evolved throughout the design process

Stage 5 Tender Support

Assist finding suitable vendors and suppliers

Support the Bidding and Negotiation

Written summary of received tenders

Written review of proposed alternatives

Stage 6 Handover and Close-Out

Commissioning Process

The Specialist Contractor shall submit a commissioning programme and method statement for SpaLution to review. Once agreed with the contracting team, operator and SpaLution shall monitor the progress of the commissioning and review the final report.

Post-Commissioning Snagging

Following the completion of the commissioning SpaLution shall undertake a snagging inspection of all equipment, the equipment shall be in a fully operational state. A report shall be issued highlighting any points that require action prior to the commissioning.

O&M Manual Review

To review a full set of O&M Manuals and comment and/or approve as necessary.

Training Programme

To review and comment on a full training programme prepared by the Specialist Contractor.

Stage 7 In Use / Defects Liability Period (DLP)

Undertake a full site review at 6 months and 12 months after opening. The report shall outline any defects that are considered the responsibility of the trade contractors and any items that fall within the warrantee.
